![]() We are now working on a plug & play fitting kit for the 02M. The with a slight twisting motion O2J DIY 004 separate the lower wire harness tray from the battery top cover. Next remove the two bolts securing the wire harness tray O2J DIY 003. If you plan on fitting an 02M 6 Speed gearbox, the setup will still work but you will need to make some changes to the fittings to the slave cylinder, so please choose option 5 or contact us for more details. The only difference is you must disconnect the power lead from the positive terminal first O2J DIY 002 then the positive terminal, then the negative terminal. This adds a lot of drag and makes the force needed to shift take two hands. The shift cables are about an inch too long and end up making a 'S' bend in the tunnel. Is as kit 4 minus the slave cylinder & fitting Just put the O2J & Polo box swap in my red '92 dizzy Corrado. As above but with: New Brake & clutch Pedal Rubbers (“02A/J Plug & Play”).(Some early O2Js had O2A shift assemblies. As above but with: Fluid reservoir, hose & clips (“ 02A/J Plug & Play”) So I looked up on ETKA the shift cable part numbers and they are the same on all 'O2J' style MkIVs.As above but with: PTFE braided hose, fittings & slave cylinder (02A/J).Modified pedal box & clutch pedal, supplied with a brand new OEM quality master cylinder. We offer 5 versions of this setup, so you don’t need to buy what you don’t need (we can also tailor to suit). With this setup you can still retain the drivers side fresh air vent pipe On top of that, our metalwork is laser cut, jigged & welded for a perfect fit every time. ![]() That's not only a testament to its quality, longevity and operation, but we also put this down to the design and that we only ever use quality OEM parts or better in its manufacture as we know how important this is for reliability. We developed this hydraulic pedal box design some time back, which until now has purely been sold by word of mouth. This is a common problem with standard MK1 clutches, but even more so with the larger and often heavy duty clutches used with the above gearboxes. You do have the option of fitting a cable operated actuator instead (we can also supply these new from time to time), but these are now obsolete from VW and have a habit of pulling the cables through the bulkhead. When carrying out an engine conversion on a MK1, chances are that you will be upgrading to either a 02A, 02J or even an 02M gearbox, all of which are all operated by hydraulic clutches.
